The Dayton Early College Academy – Team 1 Design This team consisted of Dache Amos and Devin Hill. The students used industry standard 3D modeling software, called Solidworks, to create the concept design. They were assisted throughout this process by mentor Scott Cornell, from Rack Processing Company’s engineering group, who taught them Design Principles and Practices. The students created prints from the Solidworks software. The prints were then taken to a local Dayton Region Manufacturers Association (DRMA) partner, Rack Processing Company, Inc., to fabricate the design. The students also had the opportunity to visit the facility and to see the various technologies that were utilized in the welding and fabrication process. Rack Processing Company, Inc., located in Moraine, Ohio, is very active in the community. Rack Processing Company, Inc., manufactures plating on plastics (POP) racks that are used as tooling for the automotive industry.
